Good things come to those who wait …

About this time last year, I informed you all that Jo Sharp books Knit Issue 3: A Winter of Luxury Knits and Knit Issue 6: A Winter of Poetry were out of print and we had run out of stock.  I also informed you that we would be offering, with Jo’s kind permission, free downloadable patterns from these books to customers who purchase the yarn to complete the projects.

The wait is finally over.  The patterns listed are all that have been made available to us from these 2 lovely books.  What is great, is that there is a good cross section of garment and accessory patterns for men and women, designed for beginners to advanced knitters.

I have to say it did take me some time to figure out how best present the products to give online purchasers the information needed to purchase the correct amount without compromising the conditional nature of the generous pattern give away from Jo Sharp.  Then a bit more time to get it done.  So, if you simply have to have one of these lovely garments, and you missed out on your very own copy of Knit Issue 3 or Knit Issue 6, we can help.

All you need to do, is select your desired garment and click on the links to determine the yarn and quantity you need to purchase to complete the garment.  We have included sizing information to ensure you get the fit you want.  Links are also provided to purchase needles and stitch holders if you need those too.  Remember to add the pattern to your cart before you head through the checkout.

Our new framer is having her own exhibition

We are always looking for new framers as our customers come from a large geographic area.  Up until now we only had them on the coast side of the Highlands.  Through our customers we heard about Arthead in Goulburn, just as I was planning when I could fit in a trip down the highway with the munchkin supervised by Grandma, Arthead opened up a new shop front in Moss Vale.  Yay!

We have had a number of models stitched there in the last 3 months and Sonja and her team provide a consistently excellent finish to our models.  It is great that there is someone just down the road.  Sonja and her husband are also having their own exhibition this weekend so you can see what they get up to when not busy working at their 2 stores.

Bowral and District Art Society are hosting an exhibition of Bob and Sonja Mills works this week from the 7th to the 11th of July, so it is worth going along this weekend, before you miss out.

Sonja and Bob Millis exhibition July 7th-11th. Just the thing for a cold blustery weekend in the Highlands. Don't miss out!

Baby Booties to die for

Been quite a while since I had a fab new book to squeal about and now it seems I am spoilt for choice!  Made in France: Baby Booties was one of the new arrivals in store last month, and I love it.  I can even get past the fact that a ply is not given on any page or pattern.  There is a tension square in either stocking stitch or garter stitch and needle sizes are given.   Because of this I would be loathe to recommend the book for a beginner knitter, you would need a little confidence.

There are wonderful diagrams and instructions for techniques at the front and the 18 designs have the beautiful photography and clear instructions we have come to expect from the Made in France crowd.

It could just be because I am clucky but I love the Roman Sandals, little chubby feet in them … you just want to eat them.  I also love the Magic Moccasins, so simple, with 6 variations.  That is nearly one for every day of the week.

This dear little book full of delicious little people with smartly decorated feet can be yours for just $25.00 and is available now online or in store.
