Anchor’s series of Embroidery Stitches how to guides are a well priced introduction to traditional needlecraft.  The New Anchor Book of Blackwork is no exception and is a great starting point for the beginner.  Elegant and stylish projects include a bell pull and Dionne’s favourite, a chess board with 31 different fillings from the book, 2 different borders and a motif.  Nice!
