Summer Stitching School in the Highlands

Great to see exciting new textile and stitching classes in the Highlands.

Highland Textiles have provided two very relevant courses for today’s “make-it-your-own” fashionista. Millinery with Waltraud Reiner and Beaded Encrustations with Fiona Hammond promise to enhance your skills with techniques and know-how you can use to create an outfit or design from scratch, or turn an off the peg piece into a memorable original.

The only problem is which one to do.  With class dates running from 11th-14th of January, this is just what you need to hide from the summer heat.  Why not make it a girlie outing and catch up with some friends, classes will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm each day.  Morning, afternoon tea and a light sandwich lunch are included in the 4 day tuition price of $495.00.  Participants can choose to purchase materials required or bring their own.  You can enrol on their Facebook Event Page, contact them directly or you can pick up a form when you are next at Victoria House Needlecraft.

You can follow Highland Textiles on Twitter and Facebook.

I live here, I have only stayed overnight at Peppers, that was lovely! There are some fab places to stay in the Southern Highlands, based on the course being in Moss Vale, your best bet would be to stay around Moss Vale or Bowral as it is less than 10 minutes away. If you check out the Accommodation page on the Tourism Southern Higlands Website you should be able to find something to suit any budget. Have a great time, I am so pleased to see the interest in these courses.

My pleasure, it looks like a heap of fun. Wish I could make it, but would have to toss a coin as I couldn’t decide which I like best.
